Step 1: Open or Create an Invoice

Open an existing invoice or create a manual invoice from the Sales Inbox.

The Set-Off feature works while creating or editing invoices, allowing you to adjust previously received customer advances before posting the transaction.

Step 2: Select the Party Ledger

Select the appropriate Party Ledger to activate the Set-Off section.

Once the customer ledger is selected, Accomation.io automatically enables advance payment matching for that customer, helping maintain accurate receivable records.

Step 3: Open Against Reference

In the Set-Off section, click the Against Reference icon. (manual invoice)

A pop-up displays all advance payments recorded before the invoice date for the selected customer, allowing you to choose the correct reference for adjustment.

Step 4: Select the Advance Payment

Choose the relevant advance payment entry from the list to adjust it against the current invoice.

Selecting the correct reference ensures accurate settlement of outstanding balances and proper accounting records in Tally.

Step 5: Enter the Set-Off Amount

Enter the amount you want to adjust against the selected advance payment. Any remaining invoice balance is automatically recorded as a New Reference, ensuring accurate customer ledger balances and receivable tracking.

Step 6: Save or Push the Entry

Save the changes to record the reference, or complete the remaining invoice details and Push to Review or Push to Tally. This finalizes the set-off process and updates the accounting records with the correct customer references.
