Step 1: Open Product Configuration

Click the Configure icon in the Product Details section to enable additional inventory options.

This allows you to activate alternate quantity settings for stock items and manage purchases involving multiple units of measurement.

Step 2: Enable Alternate Quantity

Select the Alternate Quantity option and click Apply.

Once enabled, additional fields become available for managing alternate units and stock conversions, making it easier to process purchase invoices where suppliers and your inventory use different units

Part A – Stock Conversion

The Bill Stock Units automatically capture the quantity and unit mentioned in the uploaded purchase invoice, providing the source unit for inventory conversion.

Step 3: Enter the Stock Conversion Rate

Under the Stock Conversion column, enter the conversion rate between the unit shown on the supplier invoice and the unit maintained in Tally.

This ensures accurate inventory quantities, stock valuation, and seamless synchronization between invoice data and your accounting records.

Part B – Alternate Quantity

If multiple units are maintained for the same stock item in Tally, the Alternate Quantity and corresponding rate per unit are displayed automatically.

When the transaction is pushed to Tally, the system records both the primary and alternate quantities, ensuring accurate inventory tracking and reporting.
