Method 1: Add Bank Rule from Manage Rule

Step 1: Open Manage Rule

Go to Bank → Manage Rule to access the rule management section.

This module allows you to create automated bank rules that classify transactions, assign ledgers, and simplify bank reconciliation by reducing repetitive manual work.

Step 2: Create a New Rule

Click the "+" icon to create a new bank rule.

This opens the rule creation screen where you can define conditions that automatically identify matching bank transactions and map them to the correct accounting ledger.

Step 3: Select Rule Conditions

Choose the required conditional fields for your bank rule, such as transaction description, narration, amount, or other matching criteria.

Well-defined conditions improve automation accuracy and ensure similar bank transactions are consistently categorized.

Step 4: Assign the Ledger

Select the appropriate ledger for the rule.

If required, use the Replace Type option to change the transaction type, such as converting a Receipt or Payment into a Contra entry. This helps automate transaction classification and minimizes manual corrections.

Step 5: Submit the Rule

Click Submit to save the bank rule.

Once created, Accomation.io automatically applies the rule to matching bank transactions, improving accounting accuracy, accelerating bank reconciliation, and reducing repetitive data entry.

Alternatively, you can also add a bank rule from the Bank Inbox.

Method 2 : Add Rule from Bank Inbox

Step 1: Open Bank Inbox

Go to the Bank Inbox to create rules directly while reviewing imported bank transactions.

This allows you to build automation rules without leaving the transaction processing screen.

Step 2: Click Add Rule

Click the Add Rule icon located in the upper-right corner of the Bank Inbox.

This opens the rule creation window where you can quickly configure automatic ledger mapping based on transaction details.

Step 3: Create and Apply the Rule

Enter the required rule conditions, select the appropriate ledger, and click Submit or Submit & Apply.

Choosing Submit & Apply immediately applies the new rule to matching transactions, saving additional processing time.
